Educational resources for environmental accounting

CSEAR Administrator

Following the launch of the Routledge Handbook of Environmental Accounting, three 45 minute videos have been created distilling 30 years of academic research and practitioner experience, covering geographically specific as well as global issues related to environmental accounting.

Matt Sorola of Toulouse Business School curated the videos involving the book's editors (Professor Jan Bebbington, Professor Carlos Larrinaga, Professor Brendan O'Dwyer and Professor Ian Thomson) and other scholars, many of whom are CSEAR members.

Hosted by the Pentland Centre for Sustainability in Business, the videos provide short introduction to trends and new areas in environmental accounting and could be incorporated into existing teaching programmes. Access the videos here:

Session 1 - Discussion with the co-editors

Co-editors of the Routledge Handbook of Environmental Accounting Jan Bebbington, Carlos Larrinaga, Brendan O'Dwyer and Ian Thomson discuss how the Handbook came together, the importance of ecological literacy, 'methodising', the relationship between environmental accounting and governance, and the future of environmental accounting.

Session 2: Accounting for Water, Biodiversity and Carbon

Co-editor Jan Bebbington discusses key thematic topics in environmental accounting (carbon, biodiversity and water) with contributors Robert Charnock, Clément Feger and Shona Russell.

Session 3: Global to local perspectives

Co-editor Carlos Larrinaga speaks to some of the contributors to the section on Global and Local perspectives: Matthew Sorola, Osamuyimen Egbon, Mercy Denedo, Tiffany Leung and Glenn Finau.
